OpenAI's ChatGPT Down for Thousands Again, Downdetector Reports

OpenAI’s ChatGPT experienced a possible outage Wednesday, according to Downdetector.com.

More than 4,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 9:26 a.m. PST, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

The platform had an outage on Tuesday where more than 28,000 users reported an issue.

Update at 9:29 a.m.

More than 7,000 users have reported issues with ChatGPT. OpenAI’s status checker, however, says that they are currently not aware of any issues affecting their system.

Update at 9:32 a.m.

More than 10,000 users have submitted a report to Downdetector regarding ChatGPT.

On OpenAI’s status checker, it is now reporting that “custom GPT updates are failing for users.” The webpage claims that they have applied the mitigation and are currently monitoring the recovery.

Update at 9:36 a.m.

More than 15,000 users have now reported an issue with ChatGPT.

Update at 9:40 a.m.

More than 23,000 users have reported an issue with ChatGPT to Downdetector. OpenAI’s status checker now shows: “We have identified that users are experiencing elevated errors for the impacted services. We are working on implementing a mitigation.”

Update at 9:47 a.m.

More than 24,000 users have now reported an issue with ChatGPT. Reports to Downdetector regarding ChatGPT are beginning to slow.
