The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a sexual assault on a minor that authorities say occurred in the community of Lamont.

According to the sheriff’s office, a juvenile female was walking home from her bus stop near the intersection of Buena Vista Boulevard and Weedpatch Highway on Dec. 8, 2025, when she was approached by an unknown adult male.

Investigators said the man, described as a white male with tattoos covering both arms, was driving a white, four-door work truck and asked the victim if she needed a ride.

The suspect then followed the victim and sexually assaulted her, the sheriff’s office said.
