Fresno police arrested a suspect and recovered a firearm following a home invasion robbery reported early Sunday in northeast Fresno.
Officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. to a residence in the 10,000 block of North Satin Nickel Drive for reports of possible shots fired.
While officers were en route, a caller reported being the victim of a home invasion robbery.
When officers arrived, they located two people near the residence’s entry gate. The two were initially detained and later identified as additional victims, police said.
The victim told officers he had been at home with several guests drinking alcoholic beverages. Two guests stayed overnight because they had been drinking. Early Sunday morning, the victim called a female to come to the residence. She arrived and stayed briefly before leaving.
Police said a male suspect arrived shortly after the woman left and fired two shots into the door before forcing entry into the home. The suspect held all three victims at gunpoint and stole numerous items before fleeing. The victim then called police.
Following the investigation, officers identified Adam Delacruz as the suspect. Police said Delacruz is an associate of the woman who had been called to the residence. He was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges related to the investigation.
Detectives also recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the crime and said the incident was isolated.
