Madera Police Seize Firearms, Arrest Man on Felony Gun Charges

Madera police seized multiple firearms and ammunition from a home after responding to a reported disturbance in which a firearm was brandished, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers with the Madera Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Barnett Way, where they identified Anthony Lopez, 28, as the suspect. Police said a search warrant was authored for Lopez’s home following the incident.

During the search, officers seized several firearms and ammunition, including an assault rifle and an unregistered handgun, police said.

Lopez was arrested on multiple felony firearm charges and booked into the Madera County Jail, according to the department.
