The city of Hanford is urging the public to avoid part of downtown after a gas leak was reported Tuesday in the 500 block of Redington Street.

The city said crews from the Hanford Fire Department and the gas company were on scene responding to the leak. No additional details were immediately available.

Officials asked residents and motorists to avoid the area while crews work to address the situation. Officials said updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
