The California Department of Transportation will conduct maintenance operations at multiple locations in Fresno this week, resulting in several temporary highway and ramp closures, officials announced.

On Wednesday, from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., the northbound Highway 99 on-ramp at Cesar Chavez Boulevard will close for pavement repairs. The northbound Golden State Boulevard to northbound Highway 99 connector ramp will close during that time for pavement work.

On Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, the eastbound Highway 180 to northbound Highway 99 connector ramp will close. Maintenance personnel will also conduct tree trimming operations within the closure limits.

On Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the No. 3 lane along northbound Highway 99 at the Merced Street off-ramp to just south of Adams Avenue will be closed for pavement repairs. And the northbound Highway 99 on-ramp at Merced Street will close.

Allow Extra Time for Travel

Closures may extend longer if weather or other uncontrollable events cause delays. All work is scheduled to occur weather permitting. However, the National Weather Service isn’t forecasting rain for the remainder of the week.

Caltrans maintenance workers urge drivers to use caution, allow extra travel time and remain alert for road maintenance personnel.
