A 16-year-old male was arrested early Monday following a shooting at a Visalia home that left no one injured, authorities said.

Just after 12:30 a.m., Visalia Police Department officers responded to a report of gunfire at a residence in the 5600 block of West Seeger Court.

Officers found evidence that the suspect had entered the backyard and fired shots through a rear bedroom window, police said.

Investigators identified the teen as the suspect and located him around 2 a.m. as he tried to return home.

He was taken into custody without incident. A firearm believed to be connected to the shooting was recovered from a nearby trash can.
