Deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men Wednesday after they were found inside a storage container on a train in Keene.

Ricardo Rodriguez, 47, and Juan Diaz, 41, initially barricaded themselves inside the container and refused to surrender, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies from the Mojave, Tehachapi, and Rosamond substations were able to take both men into custody without further incident.

Both Rodriguez and Diaz face multiple charges, including burglary, conspiracy, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, possession of controlled substances, and providing false identification to a peace officer.

Diaz was additionally charged with two outstanding felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant.

No injuries were reported during the arrest, and the investigation remains ongoing.
