A 17-year-old boy was arrested for armed robbery after authorities say he stole an e-bike at gunpoint and fired a handgun during the incident in Tulare County, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.

Just before 11 a.m., Tulare County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at Avenue 308 and Road 50 in Goshen.

Deputies learned the victim and a friend had located an e-bike that had been stolen earlier in Goshen and attempted to recover it.

Investigators said the same suspect confronted the pair, displayed a handgun and fired one round, causing the victims to flee. No injuries were reported.

Deputies located the juvenile suspect in the area and arrested him on suspicion of armed robbery, the sheriff’s office said.
