Madera County Authorities Seek Missing Mother, Son

Authorities are asking the public for help locating Sarah Jane Pritchard, 23, and her 10-month-old son, Jiraiya Mendez, who went missing Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, in Madera while traveling in a grey 1999 Toyota 4Runner. (Madera County SO)

Authorities are seeking public help to locate a missing mother and her young son last seen Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. in Madera.

Sarah Jane Pritchard, 23, and her 10-month-old son, Jiraiya Mendez, were reported missing on Monday. Pritchard is described as 5-foot-5, with brown hair and blue eyes. Her son has brown hair.

Officials say Pritchard was driving a grey 1999 Toyota 4Runner with Washington license plate CMB2697 at the time they disappeared.
