A man was killed early Thursday morning after his car struck a tree in an unincorporated area of Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP said the crash occurred around 12:34 a.m. on Henderson Road between Floral and Rose avenues. Preliminary investigation showed the driver lost control of his northbound Ford sedan after traveling over standing water, leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree in a nearby orchard.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP reminded drivers to slow down on wet roads, watch for standing water, and always wear seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation, and toxicology results are pending through the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
