A search warrant served by Visalia police led to the seizure of large quantities of drugs and multiple firearms, including a fully automatic weapon, authorities said.

Just before 4 p.m. on Thursday, the Visalia Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Homeless Outreach and Proactive Enforcement team, Special Enforcement Unit K-9 and the Tulare Area Gun Violence Enforcement Team, served a search warrant in the 1900 block of South Bradley Street, police said.

Officers seized about 28 pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, several firearms, including two handguns and three assault rifles, body armor and cash, police said. Two of the firearms were confirmed to be stolen, and one of the assault rifles was fully automatic, according to authorities.

As a result of the investigation, John Sanchez, 39, was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pretrial Facility on charges related to narcotics, firearms and child endangerment, police said.
