Visalia-Area CHP Arrests Driver After Reckless DUI Pursuit on Highway 99

A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI (drugs) Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2025, after CHP responded to reports of a vehicle traveling up to 100 mph and driving in the center divide on northbound Highway 99 near Avenue 184, leading officers on a pursuit before stopping. (CHP)

CHP officers arrested a driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs Wednesday after responding to reports of reckless driving on northbound Highway 99 near Avenue 184.

According to the California Highway Patrol in Visalia, callers reported a vehicle traveling 90 to 100 mph, driving in the center divide and causing multiple near-miss collisions.

Officers located the vehicle near northbound Highway 99 and Betty, where the driver failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit, continuing to drive in the center divide before eventually stopping.

The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI (drugs).
