Tulare County prosecutors secured a three-year denial of parole for a 59-year-old man serving a life sentence for crimes against children during a video conference parole hearing, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.
Timothy Hissong is incarcerated at Pleasant Valley State Prison after a Tulare County jury in late 2005 convicted him of six felony counts of child molestation involving three victims under the age of 14. The crimes occurred in Farmersville between November 2000 and August 2001, and Hissong was sentenced to 45 years to life in prison.
Hissong was eligible for a parole hearing under California’s elder parole provisions based on his age and length of continuous incarceration. Parole commissioners denied his release, citing concerns that he would remain a danger if released.
The denial marks Hissong’s second parole rejection. The District Attorney’s Office said a deputy district attorney attended the hearing and argued against his release, noting the office regularly participates in life parole hearings.
