Saint Agnes Medical Center named a new vice president of operations, bringing the executive down from Sacramento.
Most recently, Luis Avila served as director of operations for ancillary and support services at Sutter Health Valley Hospitals in Sacramento, according to a news release from Saint Agnes.
There, he developed strategies to enhance care delivery and patient experience. He also worked on financial stability for the Sutter Health system, having been with the network for more than 11 years, according to his LinkedIn.
Avila has a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from CalPoly San Luis Obispo, the release stated.
“Saint Agnes is pleased to welcome Luis to our Senior Leadership Team,” said Gurvinder Kaur, president of Saint Agnes in a statement. “His experience with strategic planning and process improvement will be instrumental in supporting our healing mission to increase access to the highest quality care for our community.”
Avila succeeds William Evo, who took over the operations role in January 2024.
