A shy shepherd-mix puppy named Libby pulled off a heartwarming reunion this week after tracking her siblings’ scent from an orchard all the way to the front door of the rescuer who found them.
Libby is one of six puppies discovered dumped in a nearby orchard, but unlike her littermates, she was too frightened to be caught and spent the night alone.
Her rescuer, Mell Garcia, said they worried about her safety and planned to return at sunrise, only to open their door the next morning and find Libby waiting on the porch, having followed the familiar scents of her siblings.
Now about 4 months old, Libby has come out of her shell and is described as smart, sweet and great with both dogs and people.
Expected to grow into a large dog, she’s looking for an active family, preferably one with a big yard, who can give this determined little tracker the loving home she deserves.

Prospective adopters must submit an adoption application for review to ensure the best match for each pup.
