Visalia police say two juveniles were arrested Wednesday after assaulting a student near El Diamante High School, prompting an investigation into a possible threat circulated on social media.

According to the Visalia Police Department, Youth Services Officers arrested the teens for battery after the off-campus assault.

During the investigation, officers were alerted to a social media post suggesting a potential threat to the school. Police conducted a full review and determined there was no ongoing danger to students, staff or the campus, the department said.

In a statement to families, the Visalia Unified School District said the threat was not credible and that the safety of students and staff remains its top priority. School officials thanked parents for reporting the circulating images and urged the community to continue speaking up about any concerns.
