Orange Cove Woman Identified as Fresno County Homicide Victim

Authorities have identified Carolina Godinez, 43, of Orange Cove as the woman fatally shot on Thanksgiving, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Police responded around 1:45 p.m. to reports of gunfire near 9th Street and South Avenue, where officers found Godinez with a gunshot wound.

Officers and EMS attempted lifesaving measures, but she died from her injuries.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are investigating, and identifying a suspect and determining a motive remain priorities in the ongoing case.
