A new Fox News national survey finds voter dissatisfaction with the economy surging, pushing President Donald Trump’s approval ratings to new lows even among core supporters.
The poll shows 76% of voters rate the economy negatively, and large majorities report higher costs for groceries, housing, utilities and health care.
By a 2-to-1 margin, voters say Trump—rather than former President Biden—is more responsible for current economic conditions, and 58% disapprove of Trump’s job performance overall.
The survey also shows both political parties suffering image declines after the recent government shutdown, with roughly six in ten voters saying neither Trump nor Congress cares about people like them.
Republicans are viewed as stronger on border security and crime, while Democrats lead on affordability, wages, health care and climate.
Views are mixed on Trump’s foreign policy and recent peace agreements, and his approval on the economy has fallen to a new low.
