Shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, Fresno firefighters responded to a rollover accident near Milburn Avenue and the Bluffs, where a white Jeep had gone off the roadway, down a steep embankment, overturned, and struck a power pole.

Crews used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver, who was pinned inside and suffered moderate injuries, the Fresno Fire Department said in a statement on Monday.

Rain, slippery terrain, and muddy conditions made rescue efforts challenging, officials said. The driver was transported to a hospital for further care.
