The Big Tell Showcase, now in its ninth year, will be featuring short documentaries produced by local filmmakers next Wednesday at the Tower Theatre in Fresno.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the films start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free and available at TheBigTell.org.
The Big Tell is a regional filmmaking program that offered grants to 10 filmmakers to tell undiscovered stories from Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings, Merced, and Mariposa counties, featuring the people, places, and activities that make the Central Valley so remarkable.
Angelica Hernandez, an award-winning filmmaker and Community Media Access Collaborative education specialist, guided the filmmakers from concept to screen, providing hands-on support, creative advice, and encouragement.
“I’ve watched these filmmakers pour their hearts into every story, and now seeing their work ready to shine on the big screen is electrifying!” Hernandez said in a news release. “Each film carries the passion, creativity, and voices of the Central Valley. I can’t wait for the community to experience the stories they’ve worked so hard to tell.”
