The Central Valley’s only dedicated shelter for domestic violence victims has hired a firm to help it find its next top executive, beginning its search this week.
The Marjaree Mason Center announced it has contracted with Charity Search Group — a Maryland-based consulting firm that has worked with other nonprofits such as American University and the Family and Youth Institute.
“We are confident that with Charity Search Group’s partnership, we will identify a strong and values-aligned leader to provide overall vision, leadership, and strategic direction to advance MMC’s mission and ensure organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and growth into the future,” said Kerri Horn, board president of Marjaree Mason.
The organization expects a finalist slate by early 2026.
Linder Oversaw Significant Expansion as CEO
The need for a new CEO comes as its current leader, Nicole Linder, announced she would step down from the position once a replacement had been found. Linder was instrumental in expanding operations for the nonprofit.
One of the more notable examples was the new $21 million, 5.5 acre Isnardi Foundation Building and campus bringing together many of the services Marjaree Mason provides. Before opening the building, leadership had talked about demand far exceeding capacity.
The building opened in February.
