The restaurant group bringing the diversity of Asian cuisine to Fresno has yet another project debuting soon — this time at Campus Pointe near Fresno State.

From Lin’s Restaurant Group, Ichi Shabu offers a contemporary take on Japanese shabu shabu, where guests use steaming broth to cook meat and vegetables.

Jinzhao Lin, owner of Lin’s Restaurant Group, said he was “super excited” to open the restaurant.

“Our mission has always been to deliver high-quality food and unforgettable guest experiences, and Ichi Shabu is a reflection of that commitment,” Lin said. “We want to bring something new and exciting to the Central Valley, elevating the local dining scene with authentic cuisine, exceptional service, and a dining experience guests would normally have to travel out of town or even out of the country to find.”

Ichi Shabu Opens Tuesday

Ichi Shabu, next door to Maya Cinema, will open to the public Tuesday. To celebrate, the restaurant will have a series of promotions and giveaways, including complimentary Australian A5 wagyu plates for early guests that day.

Shabu shabu translates to “swish swish” — describing the motion used to cook the ingredients.

Guests choose from a variety of meats and vegetables or pick from a list of curated selections. Operating partner Bryan Murillo and executive chef Kevin Vang each have their own appetizers on the menu as well.

Ichi Shabu marks the group’s eighth concept, which includes Lin’s Fusion, Hino Oishi, J-Pot, Spicy J’s, and Ramen Hayashi.
