Firefighters battled a house fire in Fresno Friday morning that left a vacant home destroyed but caused no injuries.
Just after 8:30 a.m., Fresno Fire Department crews responded to multiple 911 calls reporting flames and heavy smoke at a boarded-up home near the C and Mono streets. Upon arrival, firefighters found the structure engulfed in fire.
Power lines were damaged and fell during the blaze, limiting access to one side of the building. A portion of the roof also collapsed, forcing crews to fight the fire from the exterior.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring home. A total of 29 personnel responded to the incident, firefighters said.
The home is considered a total loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
