A three-vehicle collision at Palm and Herndon avenues Friday morning sent one driver to the hospital, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred around 7:38 a.m. after a westbound driver on Herndon Avenue ran a red light and hit a vehicle turning onto Herndon Avenue from Palm Avenue.

The impact caused the westbound vehicle to ricochet across the median and strike another car stopped in traffic.

The driver who ran the red light was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Their condition was not immediately known, police said.

Witnesses told GV Wire that officers were blocking traffic in the area following the crash
