The Clovis Unified School District has confirmed that the lockdown has concluded.

“My heart goes out to our students and staff who experienced fear and the emotional upheaval incidents like this cause on our school campuses,” said Superintendent Corrine Folmer, Ed.D. “These types of calls and threats cannot be tolerated and the individuals behind these acts should be held accountable. I deeply appreciate the seriousness with which our staff, our CUSD officers, and our law enforcement partners treat the investigation and prosecution of individuals who subject our students and staff to these incidents.”

The Clovis Police Department said they searched the campus and found no threats or injuries. Police said officers will remain on site but are expected to clear the area shortly.

The incident is under investigation, but authorities said it appears to have been a “swatting” call, in which an unknown caller reported a false emergency.

Police emphasized that while the report was not credible, all potential threats to public safety are treated seriously until confirmed otherwise.

The Clovis Police Department reported that Clovis High School remains on lockdown as officers continue their search. Police said no injuries or threats have been located.

Clovis High School is on lockdown Thursday after police received a report of a suspicious person and a shooting on campus, authorities said.

The Clovis Unified School District confirmed the lockdown, noting that while no evidence has been found so far, the measure was taken out of an abundance of caution as part of standard safety protocol.

Officers from the Clovis Police Department are on site investigating the report, police told GV Wire.

In a social media post, Clovis police said they received a report at 8:53 a.m. about a possible shooting on campus, but added that no injuries have been confirmed and no weapons have been found.

Authorities said the report may be a “swatting” incident, in which false information is intentionally reported to prompt a police response.

Clovis police said they could not provide additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
