The family of a 65-year-old Selma man who went missing during a hunting trip is pleading for the public’s help as search efforts intensify in the Dinky Creek Road area near Shaver Lake.
Ron Dailey left his home Monday morning and was expected back that evening but has not been seen or heard from since, according to his family.
Dailey is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair and a beard. The family said he has underlying medical conditions, including type 2 diabetes and heart issues.
His wife, Glenda Dailey, said the family last saw him at 7 a.m. Monday. “He is never late,” she said, noting that his location stopped moving around 9:30 or 10 a.m., which prompted them to call authorities.

Family Praises Ron’s Reliability, Hopes Community Leads Search in Right Areas
When asked if he has every been late from a hunting trip, Glenda said, “Ron has always been a really reliable person. If he says he’s going to do it, he does it — and he would keep us updated at all times.”
“He’s a very smart man,” his daughter Breanna Vargas said. “He has 50 plus years of experience with hunting so we know if he broke down or something happened to his vehicle he’s hunkering down and just just waiting it out”
Family members said Dailey took his diabetes medication Monday morning but did not bring it with him. They believe he has food with him and would not stray to far away from his vehicle — a silver 2002 Dodge Dakota with California license plate 16028S2.
“He’s a constantly busy person,” Glenda said, describing him as prompt and well-prepared. “We are praying for each and everyone of you that are searching for him and we appreciate you.”
Vargas thanked volunteers and urged the community to keep spreading the word. “If you spot him, if you saw him on Monday or Tuesday, whatever information you have, just please share with the Fresno Sheriff’s Department so that way they can search in the right places,” she said.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said resources have been deployed in the Dinky Creek Road and McKinley Grove Road areas.
“People are looking to see if anything they’ve seen might add up, and that’s all we can ask,” said Tony Botti, public information officer for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. “A similar vehicle, a direction of travel — sometimes those are the differences that help us bring somebody home safely.”
