Two adults were killed early Monday in a two-vehicle crash involving an unlicensed juvenile driver at Avenue 16 and Road 23, according to the Madera Police Department.
Officers responded just before 6 a.m. and found a male juvenile standing outside one vehicle while two adults were trapped inside the other. Emergency crews began life-saving measures, but both adults died from their injuries.
Police said the juvenile was driving eastbound on Avenue 16 with his headlights off when he ran a stop sign and struck the vehicle carrying the two adults.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Short at (559) 675-4239 or the Watch Commander at (559) 675-4220.
