Fresno will begin major paving work Sunday night on Shaw Avenue between Blythe and Valentine avenues as part of the “Pave More Now” initiative.

The project will take place overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to limit impacts on daytime traffic and nearby businesses along the commercial corridor, city officials said.

Work will include grinding, paving, utility access adjustments, striping and traffic loop installations. Construction is expected to continue through Oct. 24, pending weather or other delays.

Drivers can expect lane reductions overnight and intersection closures later in the project as repaving moves forward. Businesses will remain accessible, but motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes or plan for delays.
