The Golden State Warriors have signed second-round draft pick Will Richard to a four-year contract, with the first two years fully guaranteed, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Richard was selected with the 56th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft after a four-year collegiate career. He spent one season with Belmot before moving to Florida, where he became a key member of their rotation over three seasons.
Richard played in 40 games for the Gators en route to a national championship last season. He averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 66.9% from two-point range and 35.9% from deep. Richard is a 6-foot-5 guard who can play across multiple positions and projects as a high-floor, low-ceiling addition to Steve Kerr’s roster.
Richard was the fourth player to commit to the Warriors in a matter of hours. Charania had previously reported that Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II had all committed to sign with the franchise, although their respective contracts are unlikely to be signed until the Jonathan Kuminga saga reaches a conclusion.
Nevertheless, Richard will undoubtedly want to follow in the footsteps of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has established himself within Kerr’s rotation since being drafted with the 57th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
