A 31-year-old man wanted on a bench warrant for violating his post-release community supervision was arrested Monday after deputies received a tip about his whereabouts, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kyle Thomas Clarkson was first sought in April, and deputies said he had previously evaded capture, including during a foot pursuit in Oakhurst.

The Madera Special Enforcement Team set up surveillance and executed a search warrant.

After about 30 minutes of negotiation, Clarkson surrendered without incident.

“Trust is built through action, not headlines,” Sheriff Tyson Pogue said. “Our community deserves law enforcement that shows up, follows through, and puts service before show.”
