Coming into the 2025 season, the biggest question on the Los Angeles Rams’ defense may have been the secondary. Many outlets ranked their secondary as the worst in the NFC West despite showing flashes throughout last season, but there were still major question marks with the group as a whole.

Kam Curl, the 26-year-old safety who joined the Rams after four seasons in Washington, has proved to be a solid pick-up by providing leadership and productivity in the secondary. He has helped the Rams get off to 2-0 start in 2025 season.

The recent play that he has put out on the field has not gone unnoticed, as Curl ranks second in tackling grade and eighth in run defense grade among all safeties, according to PFF. He’s proving that in addition to the passing game, he has also been a spark for the team on run defense.

Curl, who played his college ball at Arkansas, is also tied in second for tackles for loss and seventh for tackles among all safeties, according to TruMedia.

With Sunday’s game against the Eagles rapidly approaching, not only will the secondary have their hands full against passing game that includes receivers such as A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, but it must also be the last level to stop the run against Saquon Barkley, who tore the Rams up in the snow in last year’s playoffs and during the regular season.
