A Mexican national living in Madera has been indicted on federal charges for trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl, prosecutors said Thursday.
A federal grand jury charged Jose Tobias Jimenez-Martinez, 35, with possessing and planning to distribute more than 75 pounds of methamphetamine and several thousand fentanyl pills, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant said.
Probation officers discovered the drugs March 4 during a search of Jimenez’s Madera home.
Court documents say he admitted transporting the meth from San Diego and planned to distribute it in Reno, Nevada.
The case was investigated by multiple local, state and federal agencies, including Madera police, the Fresno High Impact Investigation Team and the DEA.
If convicted, Jimenez faces 10 years to life in prison and a $10 million fine.
