Fresno police arrested a driver after a traffic stop in the Northwest District revealed multiple violations and illegal weapons, the department said on Friday.

Officers with the Northwest District Safety Team conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Shields Avenue and Valentine Avenue.

The driver was found to have an open container of alcohol, police said.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered two firearms — one reported stolen out of state and one privately manufactured — as well as an auto-switch (sear) and ammunition, all concealed in the car.

The driver was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail, and the vehicle was towed, according to police.
