A driver was arrested Monday night after authorities say he ran a red light, collided with another vehicle and crashed into a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Visalia.
The crash happened around 8:39 p.m. near Main Street and Ben Maddox Way, the Visalia Police Department said.
Officers said Brandon Smith, 30, was driving a white GMC truck northbound on Ben Maddox when he failed to stop at a red light and slammed into a silver Toyota minivan traveling eastbound on Main Street.
The truck then continued into the southwest corner of Carl’s Jr., police said. No one inside the restaurant or the minivan was injured, authorities reported.
Smith was taken to Kaweah Health for treatment before being arrested. He faces charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving, police said.
