A U.S. Army sergeant has been arrested in connection with the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, authorities said.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office said James Allen Beavers, 30, was taken into custody Saturday at Fresno Yosemite International Airport following a months-long investigation launched from a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber tip in December 2024.

Detectives said the investigation included multiple search warrants and electronic evidence that identified Beavers as the primary suspect.

A second cyber tip from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey further linked him to child exploitation activity in Madera County.

Beavers allegedly engaged in the conduct while visiting family in Madera County before deploying to Camp Humphreys in South Korea, authorities said.

Authorities said the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division assisted in the case and coordinated his return to the U.S.

Beavers was booked into the Madera County Jail on felony charges of possessing child sexual abuse material. His bail was set at $100,000.

“This case is a strong reminder that those who exploit or endanger children will be found, no matter where they are,” Sheriff Tyson Pogue said.
