Meet Jenny, a shepherd-husky mix who took “waiting for a sign” to a whole new level — by hanging out for days in front of a Bank of America ATM in Calwa.

Mell Garcia, founder of Mell’s Mutts, first spotted Jenny Friday night and quickly realized this wasn’t your average stray stroll-by. Jenny stayed put all weekend, and by Monday morning, Garcia decided it was time to scoop her up.

At about 7 years old and 60 pounds, Jenny initially looked pregnant, but no puppies were found. After taking her to a local shelter, Garcia’s heart wouldn’t let her leave Jenny there — so she returned a few days later to bring her back.

Jenny’s not just a pretty face. She’s leash trained and knows her tricks: sit, shake, and roll over. Loyal and affectionate, she loves hanging out with boy dogs her size but gives smaller pups and other females a side-eye.

From ATM watcher to full-time cuddle buddy, Jenny’s story is just getting started.

Prospective adopters must submit an adoption application for review to ensure the best match for each pup.
