Authorities are investigating a deadly assault that occurred late Friday night in Kingsburg.

Around 10:30 p.m., Kingsburg police responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon near 7th Avenue and Nevada Street, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Officers arrived to find a man with clear signs of trauma. Authorities said he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation and is pursuing all leads.
