A Fresno man was arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery and sexual battery that occurred early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Ernest Daniel Linton, 32, was taken into custody and booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of home invasion robbery, sexual battery, and assault with intent to commit a sex offense. His bail is set at $325,000.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened at 7 a.m. Wednesday in a home on the 5000 block of E. Tyler Ave.

A woman reported that she and her child were asleep when she awoke to find an unknown man in her bed, groping her.

She yelled at the man, who fled the home. Personal items were later found to be missing.

Neither the woman nor her child was physically injured.

Deputies obtained a description of the suspect and reviewed surveillance footage showing a man walking in the area.

That afternoon, deputies contacted a man matching the description near the Circle K gas station at Olive and Peach avenues. He was later identified as the suspect.

Authorities are asking the public to report any inappropriate encounters involving Linton, who is known to frequent the area around East Olive and North Peach avenues.
