Clovis At-Risk Missing Person Found Dead in Fresno Canal

A Clovis business owner who had been reported missing last month was found dead Thursday in a canal in Fresno, authorities said.

Surinder Pal, 55, was last seen around 6 p.m. on June 22 near Blackstone and Dakota avenues in Fresno. His vehicle was found abandoned the following day near Temperance and McKinley avenues.

Clovis police said Pal’s body was discovered Thursday afternoon in a canal near Temperance and McKinley. No suspicious circumstances are suspected at this time.

Pal had previously been classified as an at-risk missing person.

The Clovis Police Department thanked the public, local media, Fresno police, and the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office for their help in the search.

“The Clovis Police Department sends our condolences to the family of Mr. Pal,” the department said in a statement.
