Authorities Seek Answers After Man Found Dead Near Rural Fresno County Road

Billy Wayne Sinisgalli, a 54-year-old transient known locally as Wayne, was found dead along a rural Fresno road Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in what authorities are investigating as a suspicious death. (Fresno County SO)

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the suspicious death of a man found early July 2 along a rural road west of Fresno.

Deputies responded around 7 a.m. to the area of South Chateau Fresno Avenue and West Kearney Boulevard after receiving a report of an injured person.

When they arrived, they discovered the man was dead.

The victim has been identified as Billy Wayne Sinisgalli, 54, a transient known locally by his middle name, Wayne, the sheriff’s office said.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene due to the circumstances surrounding his death.
