A teenage boy was arrested Friday after leading Clovis police on a 10-minute pursuit while riding an electric motorcycle, authorities said.
Just before 11 a.m., an officer attempted to stop the teen near Ashlan and Fowler avenues for reckless driving, according to the Clovis Police Department.
The teen allegedly fled, prompting a chase that ended when he tried to hide the motorcycle, change clothes, and conceal himself inside his home.
Officers were allowed inside the residence by a parent, who helped hold the teen accountable, police said. The electric motorcycle was impounded.
“This is an important reminder to parents that electric motorcycles and bicycles can be dangerous if not ridden properly and following the law,” the department said in a statement.
Police encouraged the public to report reckless driving by calling 911 and said they will continue enforcing traffic laws to protect the community.
