A confrontation between protesters and federal agents in San Diego turned physical last week, with new video showing a woman removing an ICE agent’s mask during the altercation, Newsweek reported.

ICE said the protest was in defense of Denis Anderson Chicoj Yacon, a Guatemalan national under investigation.

The agency claimed three individuals attacked officers and threatened to expose their identities.

ICE officials argue face coverings protect agents from threats, while critics call for banning masked enforcement.

The incident comes as ICE ramps up operations in sanctuary cities under directives from President Trump.
