Kaweah Health is elevating its interim chief nursing officer to the permanent position.

Schlene Peet came to the Visalia hospital several months ago by way of Frisco, Texas, where she also served as chief nursing officer. In addition to holding master’s degrees in nursing, business administration, and health service administration, Peet is pursuing her juris doctorate in health care law.

“I am honored to join Kaweah Health as chief nursing officer and to work alongside such a dedicated team of healthcare professionals,” said Peet, whose promotion was announced Thursday. “I look forward to contributing to the organization’s continued success and to advancing our shared commitment to providing exceptional care to every patient we serve.”

Peet Will Enhance Quality Efficiency of Nursing Team: Herbst

A news release credits Peet for her ability to “build collaborative teams and deliver measurable improvements in patient experience and health outcomes.”

As chief nursing officer in Frisco, she led initiatives in care coordination, clinical operations, and workforce engagement. For Kaweah, she will work on increasing the quality and efficiency of services.

“We are thrilled to welcome Schlene to our Kaweah Health family as chief nursing officer and as part of our executive team,” said CEO Gary Herbst. “Her proven leadership abilities, passion for excellence, and commitment to our values make her the ideal person to lead our nursing teams and drive continued improvements in patient care.”
