Fresno Ideaworks is home to a new downtown mural that celebrates those who work with their hands.
Instead of a big entrance sign, Ideaworks opted to hire a local artist to paint a massive mural on the front of the building at 1730 H St.
The Artist and Design
Michael Howe was the artist selected for the piece. His wife, Ariel, also helped throughout the process.
Howe’s original design won the hearts of the judges. He is a Canadian transplant who says he loves living in Fresno.
Three artisans working at their individual crafts comprise Howe’s 800-square-foot mural.

About Ideaworks and Measure P Support
Ideaworks is a a volunteer-operated, member-driven, nonprofit community makerspace that offers classes in several labor trades including woodworking, welding, 3D printing, ceramics, electronics, and many others.
Ideaworks was awarded a grant through Measure P, a city sales tax that supports, maintains, and builds parks and trails, as well as supports the arts.
Fresno Ideaworks will show off the mural and give tours of its facility at Thursday’s Arthop beginning at 5 p.m..
