Musk said in a social media post early Wednesday that he regretted some of his posts and comments about President Trump last week, which had led the president to disparage the tech billionaire, a feud that played out in real time on social media. Elon Musk posted drug screening results Tuesday that came back negative for ketamine and multiple substances, responding to a New York Times report alleging drug use during the 2024 presidential campaign.

The billionaire entrepreneur shared the test results on X with a simple “lol” caption before launching attacks on both the Times and Wall Street Journal.

“I hereby challenge the NYT and WSJ to take drug tests and publish the results!” Musk posted. “They won’t, because those hypocrites are guilty as sin.”

The Tesla chief executive officer also posted a mockery of the Journal’s logo, rearranging “WSJ” to spell “We suck at journalism,” adding, “Their new name is perfect.”

Media Outlets Defend Reporting

The Times had reported that Musk told associates his ketamine use was affecting his bladder and that he consumed psychedelic mushrooms and ecstasy. Sources described seeing a box containing 20 pills, including Adderall, that traveled with him daily.

Musk had previously denied the allegations in May, posting, “To be clear, I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their a– off.”

Charlie Stadtlander, the Times’ managing director of external communication, defended the outlet’s work Tuesday. “Nothing that he’s said or presented since our article about his drug use during the presidential campaign was published contradicts what we uncovered,” Stadtlander said.

Musk departed his White House advisory role last month after establishing the Department of Government Efficiency.
