Famous Dave’s All Star BBQ Series Winner
Famous Dave’s in Fresno hosted the 3rd annual All-Star BBQ Series last Saturday, partnering with the World Food Championships. Nine teams competed for a $5,000 prize and a golden ticket to November’s championship in Indianapolis.
Ryan Pang of Old Greenwood BBQ in Sunnyvale claimed the Grand Champion title and golden ticket, while Michael Rojas of Me and Mom’s BBQ in Fresno earned Reserve Grand Champion and People’s Choice Winner.
David “Famous Dave” Anderson served as one of the judges, evaluating competitors’ ribs, chicken, and creative barbecue dishes. The free admission event drew hundreds who enjoyed BBQ samples, giveaways, games, and complimentary beverages.
Pang will now compete at the World Food Championships against the nation’s top pitmasters for $450,000.
