Fresno police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that took place last month in central Fresno, the department said in a statement.

Officers responded to the area of Shields and Pleasant avenues at 12:36 p.m. on April 30 after reports of four gunshots.

Officers located four spent casings in the roadway there.

An investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between a man and the victim.

The man, who was not allowed at the residence, entered the passenger side of a vehicle while continuing to argue with the victim.

As the vehicle drove away, the driver reportedly lowered his window and fired multiple rounds at the victim’s car, striking the front passenger-side fender.

Surveillance footage captured the shooting, and detectives with the Felony Assault Unit later identified the alleged gunman as Jose Flores.

On Wednesday, May 7, members of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium served a search warrant and arrested Flores.

Flores was booked into the Fresno County Jail on two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle.
