California Highway Patrol officers issued more than 130 citations and made one arrest Wednesday during a traffic enforcement operation targeting dangerous driving on Highway 41 and Avenue 12 in Madera.
Sixteen CHP motor officers from Bakersfield, Fresno, and Merced teamed up for the effort, which ran from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Officers focused on violations contributing to collisions, authorities said.
A total of 134 citations were issued, including 122 for speeding, CHP officials reported.
The operation was part of the agency’s ongoing push to improve traffic safety.
