Tulare County Resident Fights Off Suspected Home Invader

Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an attempted home invasion that occurred Thursday in Porterville.

Deputies were called around noon near Orange Avenue and Leggett Street after a masked man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, forced his way into a home, the sheriff’s office said.

A fight broke out when the suspect was confronted by someone inside, but the suspect eventually fled and got into a waiting vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
